Iron Man (2008) with Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges.
We were looking to catch up with the latest release at the cinema so booked ourselves a couple of seats at York Vue Cinema to watch Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges, Leslie Bibb and Faran Tahir. Released on the 2nd May, the film centred around Tony Stark a wealthy industrialist who is forced to build an armored suit after a life-threatening incident, he ultimately decides to use its technology to fight against evil. The first 40 minutes of the film were a little slow, in that I couldn’t really find a plot, but as the iron man title started to make connections with the plot that was unfolding in front of me, it turned out to be quite an entertaining romp. Quite a few attempts at humour were thrown in for good measure and while I didn’t need to exercise my three brain cells too much, it was an enjoyable film all told. The only thing that was slightly disconcerting throughout was the uncanny resemblance between Jeff Bridges, playing Obadiah Stane and my old boss at Steria, John Torrie.
