Agar Arms, Warthill, York

Opposite the duck pond you will find this little gem of a county pub. We paid another visit to the Agar Arms yesterday (Saturday 11th Aug 07), only this time during the evening. The place was packed and we soon realised why. The food is excellent. It clearly has a huge following from people who like good steaks and the numbers who had ordered this paricular dish were testament to the quality served up. Taking Dusty’s parents along we sat in the snook and ordered Steak Pie, Peppered Steak, Gamon and Roast Chicken. All the food served up to us was very good indeed and the side serving of chips were made in the traditional way. Home chipped and cooked. None of that frozen stuff you mostly get in pubs.

We continue to recommend this little pub with a great personality. Go for the steak, you won’t be disapointed.
