Original Review Below.
We stopped off at the 1331 Gastrobar in Grape Lane, York for lunch on Saturday. It is quite well hidden within the centre of York in what has now become known as the fashionable quarter. It is situated over the Norman Court and has ground floor and first floor bar areas. Also upstairs is a small Seedy Snug area which is great for small groups to meet up and chat in.
We ordered our food and settled down at the wooden tables and took in the surroundings while we waited. The place was surprisingly busy with people coming and going all the time. Clearly popular with locals and students alike it had a nice warm friendly atmosphere. At the tables opposite were two families who seemed at ease and had clearly being here before.
The food arrived and was nicely presented, good value and tasty. The only thing that spoilt it slightly was the tepid Café Latte. Other than that we enjoyed the experience and would certainly go back again.
Let us know what you think if you try it.
